Hope for a Future

Did you know....
Children under the age of 18 account for 39% of the homeless population? And, of that number, approximately 42% were younger than age 5? Every year approximately 5,000 homeless young people will die because of assult, illness or suicide while trying to survive.

At Eagle's Nest Wilderness Ranch we are hoping to help change these statistics by coming alongside these children with faces and names, and providing Christ-centered homes where they can find safety, security and hope for a different future.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for wholeness and not for evil, plans to give you a future and hope." Jeremiah 29:11

We will have several individual homes staffed with loving Christian houseparents who will oversee 5-7 children providing them with an opportunity to live in and be part of a forever family. These homes will be located on a working cattle and horse ranch where the children will have the opportunity to take part in the daily ranching activities. These activities will provide opportunities to teach the children life lessons in team work, goal setting, planning, leadership, accountability and responsibility which will hopefully yield feelings of confidence, value, self worth and a sense of importance and belonging.

"Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles." Isaiah 40:31

Will you join us in praying for these children, who have real faces and names, that God will bring to us to minister to?

At Eagle's Nest Wilderness Ranch we will utilize Equine therapy and pair our kids up with horses we've raised and/or trained. In addition, we'll also pair horses who have been abused, neglected or abandoned as they share a common bond with our children who have had similar experiences. This has proven to be a dynamic combination and is very healing and therapeutic for the child and the horse.

A Couch is Not a Home

"A couch ...
is NOT a home!"
This was a statement on a site talking about homeless youth in the state of Colorado. Did you know that Colorado has over 23,000 children who are homeless and that number doesn't even reflect those who are moving from home to home sleeping on their friend's couches? And, did you know that the number of homeless children in the state of Colorado has tripled in the last decade?

At Eagle's Nest Wilderness Ranch we will provide permanent ...homes for children and youth who are homeless, neglected, abused, orphaned or abandoned.

It is our hope that you will join with us as we seek to help these children ... to begin with, will you PRAY for us? That God will lead us to the land that He has for us to begin building these homes? That "He will supply all of our needs abundantly beyond all that we can ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us"? (Ephesians 3:20)

Thank you! Praise be to GOD!!

"You will honor your kids by placing a high enough value on them to warrant the time and energy to parent well." (Raising Kingdom Kids by Tony Evans) At Eagle's Nest Wilderness Ranch, we believe every child is a "Child of the King" and that God has a special purpose for each one. It is our desire to help them find that purpose.

Raising Kingdom Kids

In preparation for beginning our ministry at Eagle's Nest Wilderness Ranch, we are reading different books to assist us in developing our structure and programming. Here is a quote from Raising Kingdom Kids by Tony Evans: "As Tony and I raised our own children, we agreed to place a priority on teaching our kids the Word in the spirit of Deuteronomy 6. It was our goal to make God's Word a topic of conversation, a symbol of our family culture, and a message that permeated every room in our house." We will strive for this too at ENWR!
