Children under the age of 18 account for 39% of the homeless population? And, of that number, approximately 42% were younger than age 5? Every year approximately 5,000 homeless young people will die because of assault, illness or suicide while trying to survive.

At Eagle's Nest Wilderness Ranch we are hoping to help change these statistics by coming alongside these children with faces and names, and providing Christ-centered homes where they can find safety, security and hope for a different future.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for wholeness and not for evil, plans to give you a future and hope." Jeremiah 29:11

We will have several individual homes staffed with loving Christian houseparents who will oversee up to 6 children providing them with an opportunity to live in and be part of a forever family. These homes will be located on a working cattle and horse ranch where the children will have the opportunity to take part in the daily ranching activities. These activities will provide opportunities to teach the children life lessons in team work, goal setting, planning, leadership, accountability and responsibility which will hopefully yield feelings of confidence, value, self worth and a sense of importance and belonging.

Yesterday, after patiently waiting for several weeks, several of us on our Eagle's Nest Wilderness Ranch team had the opportunity to go onto the property that we circled in prayer by hiking the perimeter last week. The name of the property is King Mountain Ranch. This property is absolutely beautiful! It is very remote and is completely surrrounded by over a million acres of the Arapaho National Forest. It has everything that we would need to get started......lots of room for our kids to explore and recreate on, water and water rights (which is gold in Colorado), pasture land for cattle and horses and several buildings. Whille many of the buildings are in major disrepair and will probably need to be torn down, there are a few that would work to get started until we would have the opportunity and finances to build new ones. It would be an amazing place for our children to grow up!

Will you join us in praying that God would make it possible for us purchase this property? It will take a miracle ... but, we KNOW that God has led us thus far and He is FAITHFUL and ABLE to do so much more than we could ever think or image! (Ephesians 3:20) We are going to take steps of FAITH and continue moving forward to see what God has in mind. Do you want to be a part of this MIRACLE? We hope you will join us on the journey!

]]><![CDATA[Coincidence... or God?]]>Thu, 04 Jun 2015 23:13:42 GMThttps://www.enwranch.org/blog/coincidence-or-godA sign from God relative to our new home for Eagle's Nest Wilderness Ranch? Only time will tell, but I must share the story. This past Tuesday members of our ENWR team decided to hike the perimeter of a property that we've felt that God may be leading us to. We wanted to "pray a circle" around it (an idea promoted by a book that we've all read called "The Circle Maker" by Mark Batterson) and determine if this property has all that we will need to accomplish our goals.
... After hiking for about an hour and a half we heard an eagle screeching and then saw it fly right over our heads. Awesome sight! Then, as we continued to watch in awe, another eagle appeared and joined the first one. Really awesome! When they flew out of sight we resumed our hike. After just a few minutes more of hiking, we heard what sounded like baby eagles making noises overhead so we began to scan the trees for a nest. And, sure enough, we spotted it. We scrambled up the side of mountain to see if we could get a better look and upon gaining some elevation we were able to see two baby eagles sitting in the nest (similar to those pictured below). Incredibly awesome sight!!
I said to the rest of the team....can you believe what we're seeing? We are looking at an Eagle's Nest in the Wilderness (the property is bordered by the Arapaho National Forest) next to a Ranch that we're praying about as a potential home for our children. Coincidence...or God??? I'm not a big believer in coincidences!
Would you please join us in praying for this property? We have heard that it is for sale and it seems so perfectly suited to meet our needs, but it also has a pretty large price tag attached to it. Therefore, we also ask for prayers for the funds that will be needed to move ahead. God directed and led us to this incredible place, and after spending our first day there, we knew that this is exactly what He's called us to do and how we are to do it! In addition, we'll also pair horses who have been abused, neglected or abandoned as they share a common bond with our children who have had similar experiences. This has proven to be a dynamic combination and is very healing and therapeutic for the child and the horse.

This was a statement on a site talking about homeless youth in the state of Colorado. Did you know that Colorado has over 23,000 children who are homeless and that number doesn't even reflect those who are moving from home to home sleeping on their friend's couches? And, did you know that the number of homeless children in the state of Colorado has tripled in the last decade?

At Eagle's Nest Wilderness Ranch we will provide permanent ...homes for children and youth who are homeless, neglected, abused, orphaned or abandoned.

It is our hope that you will join with us as we seek to help these children ... to begin with, will you PRAY for us? That God will lead us to the land that He has for us to begin building these homes? That "He will supply all of our needs abundantly beyond all that we can ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us"? (Ephesians 3:20)
